Cara Dune is a character who will certainly not be returning. Gina Carano has been let go from The Mandalorian, ever since filming the first two seasons, due to sharing offensive content on social media.

The Mandalorian is now making more connections with a distant galaxy therefore; it would be no surprise if multiple guest stars make an appearance in season three, especially the ones familiar with the force. Probably a young Luke Skywalker (a deep faked CGI creation in The Book of Boba Fett, even featuring a digitally-created, de-aged voice) would make an exceptional appearance.
And dear readers do not be shocked if the talented Bryce Dallas Howard directs another episode in season three (she already contributed in the making of The Book of Boba Fett episode five)..
When was asked about the diversity on the show, Weathers revealed one of the directors of season three (Via Star Wars News Net)
“Obviously we’ve got Rick (Famuyiwa), who’s here, who is behind the camera and an executive producer on our show, you know, who directed me on a couple of episodes of The Mandalorian this season… and I’m a huge fan.”
The mandalorian season 3 plot: what will the third season be about?
The Mandalorian left a lot of questions concerning what will take place next following season two final episode that felt like the end point.
Primarily, it was assumed that the post-credits scene was included to set up an entire plot circling around Boba Fett (Temuera Morisson) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). It certainly did, but it was The Book of Boba Fett. It was like a by-product taking place alongside the Mandalorian arc.
Fans of The Book of Boba Fett are familiar with what’s happened, for you who missed the whole deal here it is: a preface for The Mandalorian’s coming season was set up in the final episode of Boba Fett as Din and Grogu reunited and flew together in the final scene.
Therefore, we automatically assumed the story would open up The Mandalorian season three as the union of Grogu and Mando has now occurred in The Book of Boba Fett..
The premise of the show was seemingly in danger with the separation of Mando and Grogu, now with them being reunited we are thankful to the maker and apparently Pascal is too.
“It was scary wasn’t it? To be separated like that,” Pascal stated (Via Empire).”Jon (Favreau) and Dave (Filoni, show runners)called me, and they told me that they would be bridging seasons two and three with The Book of Boba Fett, as far as Mandalorian and Grogu were concerned. I just thought that was brilliant.”
“What I didn’t expect is such a beautiful, lonely episode that Bryce Dallas Howard directed so incredibly. And also, for the reunion to be precious, but also just quite sudden and natural.”
“We’re living in a universe that is huge and that has so much to explore.” Said Giancarlo Esposito implying on what is in store for viewers in The Mandalorian season three. “so I think this show is going to start to lay the groundwork for the depth and breadth that’s going to come in season three and season four, where you’re really going to start to get answers.”
Bryce Dallas Howard the director of episode ‘ The Heiress’ season two, opened up to Digital Spy about the show willingness to involve elements that a Star Wars fan might not be familiar with and the possibility of exploring the wide universe.
“I think it’s a really fine balance, of course, “she stated. “As an actor, I’m familiar with those kinds of questions because, for example, with working in the Jurassic franchise, it’s like, Ok we can have fun with some deep cuts for the fans but, at the end of the day, it’s about a good story, well told.”
“What is that balance? How might something that has been established in the lost world or whatnot play a factor into the storytelling for Jurassic world: dominion?”
She continued: “If you’re telling a story that is a biopic and there is a bunch of smaller characters-but you can go and read about all of them, because they existed, and their lives are well-documented and whatnot –it’s only going to better inform the biopic that’s centering on the one character. Because you will have this fully-fleshed-out other characters that, even though it’s not centering on them, they are a part of the narrative.”
When you know that there are three spin-off shows on the way, these quotes become a lot more reasonable.
The Mandalorian is set in the same timeline as Ahsoka, Ranger of The New Republic and The Book of Boba Fett, therefore, it is no surprise when they all connect to the main show, In fact season three might connect them all directly.
Ahsoka spin-off is already linked after the character’s live-action debut in the Mandalorian season two in, addition to Boba’s solo adventure that is previously out there, Rangers of The New Republic remains not much known about.
“The exciting part about Mandalorian is that it started with this very simple and sort of elemental relationship when the Mandalorian met this young child and how it’s affected him,” said Rick Famuyiwa Director and Executive Producer (Via Star Wars Net).
He added “and I think all the decisions he’s made since coming in contact with the child has sort of raised the stakes in terms of the storytelling of the show, and we’ve just been following that to sort of its natural place as he’s experienced meeting people outside of his own creed and understanding what it means to be a Mandalorian.”
“So as we get to season three, it’s really a sort of culmination of that. We’ve started with our original Mandalorian but as the teaser said, he’s not the only one. And what does that mean? So this season is really about kind of bringing all that together.”
Expect a mixed of genres, no matter what happens.
Carl Weathers has told the Empire (via The Nerd Stash): ”oh there was a bit more action, I think, in this one,”
“Even though they’re different episodes, it’s not like typical episodic television,” he continued. “It’s not a whodunit, it’s not a dark comedy, it’s not a procedural. It’s so many different things, and it’s action-adventure on top of that. As a director, you get a chance to exercise your talent, and also your ability to deliver in those different areas”
We could witness an astonishing best possible guest appearance on Mando in season three if Favreau did not save it for the coming seasons.
“George. George Lucas. That would be the best cameo. He’d have to be the son of Baron Papanoida or something like that. I don’t know. I wouldn’t even speculate on that. It’s hard for me to imagine what that day would be like,” Favreau (Via The Entertainment weekly).
The third season will revolve around Mandalore, with the Mandalorian homeworld location given significance.
“We established in The Book of Boba Fett that there was an opportunity for the Mandalorian to be redeemed because he has transgressed against the creed by removing his helmet. And among his group of Mandalorians that is something that is not permitted. Now, we know that there are other groups of Mandalorians that have different sets of rules“
“in the Clone Wars, we saw with Dave and also with a character that I voiced, that Mandalorians are very different there. So these different groups are coming together and we are going to figure out how they all … the nexus point for all of those communities of course is their home world from which they are exiled, which is Mandalore.”

After the empire rule collapsed Moff Gideon’s Warden Ship was part of an overall effort to preserve order in different parts of the galaxy.
“When everything falls apart, and you have no leadership, and everything is just crumbling, we all would want someone to stand up and have some kind of vision for how to be about all of us” According to Esposito.
Gideon controls his territory and runs it as cruelly as he can, whereas he sees other wardens around him as not worthy and not up to his standard.
“They are not really as strong and powerful as him. He gets a taste of, ‘Oh I can straighten all this out.”
“ Drunk with the idea that his vision is better” Is what Gideon has become.
What a perfect and exciting beginning for season three.
Season three, expect it to be bigger.
